HOW TO VIEW AND PRINT ADOBE ACROBAT (PDF FILES)
Catalogs and manuals on our website are in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). To view and print these files on your computer you need Adobe Acrobat Reader software. Acrobat reader may already be on your computer and you may not know it. It is included with many internet packages. You may want to search your hard disk for "Acrobat" to see it it is there. If you don’t have it, you can download it at no charge from the Adobe site. A link to Adobe’s download location is included below. Acrobat software which lets anyone read any document that was created on any computer using any software. The document will look virtually identical to the original, but will be much smaller and will not require the original fonts or links to the original graphics. Many government agencies are now using Acrobat. For example, the IRS uses it for all of its downloadable tax forms.

The Acrobat Reader is a large file (about 3000K) and will take some time to download. After downloading Acrobat, you may still have to configure your web browser to automatically open Acrobat if you want to view the PDF immediately on your screen. Many people prefer to download and save the PDF, then open with Acrobat Reader later for reading or printing.

HOW TO CONFIGURE NETSCAPE FOR ACROBAT

Go to the General Preferences window under the Options Menu.
Click on the Helpers Section.
Make a new helper for Acrobat by clicking on New, then enter into the Mime Type box the word "application" and into Subtype and Extensions boxes the word "pdf".
Click on the Browse button and find the Acrobat Reader software you downloaded and installed on your hard disk.
Lastly, click on the Launch Application button and click in "OK" to close the window. Now when you download a file with "pdf" on the it end of it, Netscape will automatically launch Acrobat and let you view and print the file.

HOW TO CONFIGURE MICROSOFT EXPLORER FOR ACROBAT

Microsoft's Internet Explorer is automatically set to download a pdf file to your hard disk (and asks you where you want it saved). You can then open the file later with Acrobat for viewing and printing.
Should you want Explorer to open Acrobat for you, go to the Options window under the Edit Menu Bar.
Click on helpers, then scroll down and select on the "PDF Files" listing.
Click on the "Edit" button, then the "Choose" button and find the Acrobat Reader software you have installed on your hard disk. Now instead of merely downloading the file, it will also open the Acrobat Reader for you to view or print the file.
